We developed a practical report for the Generalitat de Catalunya on how business and digital ecosystems create and capture value, particularly for small and medium-sized industrial firms. The study clarifies key ecosystem concepts and roles—such as when to orchestrate versus partner—analyses dynamics and participants, and distills lessons from relevant case studies. It concludes with actionable recommendations on designing, joining, and scaling ecosystems, enabling policymakers to shape effective support programmes and helping companies apply these insights in practice.

Evolution Ltd. conducted a rapid strategic due diligence and roadmap for Imperial Brands focused on Tobacco Harm Reduction (THR) and Illicit Trade (IT). The work included attending the Global Forum on Nicotine in Warsaw to assess initiatives firsthand, interviewing stakeholders across health, advocacy, policy, and industry, and synthesising implications for Imperial’s strategy. Building on this fieldwork, Evolution Ltd. developed an ecosystem playbook and phased plan encompassing stakeholder and industry-architecture mapping across priority markets, cross-industry lessons from contested sectors, and activation options ranging from local stakeholder initiatives to a neutral technical consortium for standards and data, and a global policy forum to align regulators, public-health actors, and peers.

Evolution Ltd. worked with Engie-Tractebel to conduct a strategic assessment of HR practices and career mobility, identifying opportunities to enhance the recruitment, retention, and promotion of women into management roles. The project explored how AI and GenAI could be applied in innovative ways to support these objectives and strengthen inclusion across the organisation.

Evolution Ltd conducted a strategic ecosystem audit for Majid Al Futtaim (MAF), mapping internal and external initiatives and aligning them with evolving management priorities. By analyzing the standalone value and synergy potential of each ecosystem, the work identified key opportunities to strengthen long-term returns and strategic coherence. The resulting insights informed new theoretical development and offered an independent perspective on MAF’s investment decisions—ultimately reshaping prior guidance from McKinsey & Co regarding group synergies and future direction.

Evolution Ltd., in collaboration with Spring Studios, led a creative transformation for Lavazza, advising on the conception and development of a multi-product, multi-actor ecosystem. The project explored how to apply emerging theoretical frameworks from CMR to an FMCG context, translating academic insight into practical strategy.

Evolution Ltd led a comprehensive consulting engagement for Huawei, mapping key European data and platform regulation initiatives and analyzing the strategic responses of leading global tech firms. The project incorporated insights from public reports, expert interviews, and scenario-based analysis to clarify the evolving dynamics of digital ecosystems. This work resulted in a refined strategic framework and a concrete set of actionable recommendations.
