Christoph Lechner is a Chaired Professor at the University of St. Gallen and Director of its Institute of Management & Strategy. His research interests are Alliances, Ecosystems, and Corporate Strategy. Besides the University, he is a member of the Board of Helvetia (Insurance) as well as Vice Chairman of Hügli (food), both publicly listed at the Swiss Stock Exchange.

He has consulted on strategy and educated executives for several companies around the world such as ABB, Allianz, Altana, BASF, Banco Santander, Clariant, Credit Suisse, Daimler, Danaher, Fresenius, Toyota, Linde, Lufthansa, Munich Re, PWC, SAP, Siemens, Swiss Re, Swiss Life, Oracle, Ursa and VP Bank.

He is also co-founder of the Swiss Virtual Business School AG, a leading provider of e-based learning programs that was sold in 2018 to BTS (Sweden).

Before his academic career, he worked seven years for Deutsche Bank in Germany and Singapore.
